Geddes Free Range Chicken

Reared in small batches, Geddes Free Range chickens are slowly grown over a 14 week period. Fed on a natural diet without any added preservatives or antibiotics, the chickens are given constant access to fresh pastures and are free to dust bathe, forage and scratch. This traditional process allows the meat to mature naturally, giving it a superior taste to standard poultry.

Geddes Free Range Pork


Geddes Free Range Pork comes from our rare breed pigs, slowly grown twice as long as standard pigs for a superior taste and texture. Kept in family units for greater happiness and harmony, our Gloucester Old Spot, Tamworth, Large Black and Middle White pigs are fed on a natural diet with no antibiotics and are properly free range, living outside all their lives, rootling in the fields on the farm.

The cross of traditional rare breeds means that they have a good layer of fat – not to mention superb crackling – and produces pork that is close grained and dark in colour. We also produce our own handmade sausages, which come in packs of 8 or as chipolatas.

Geddes Free Range Eggs

 

Our happy egg laying hens are cared for by Lorne’s father-in-law, Jamie. They have access to grass at all times where they can scratch, dust bathe and forage for food. We are not sure whether it is their daily interaction with Jamie or the grass that they eat, but they are rumoured to produce the most delicious eggs you can buy in the Highlands!

Geddes Free Range Eggs are full of old fashioned flavour with bright yellow yolks.

Edinvale Farm Beef
Based in nearby Moray, Edinvale Farm Beef comes from ethically reared traditional Scottish breeds – Highland, Aberdeen Angus and Shorthorn Cross cattle. Grass fed in open pastures during the summer months, the cattle enjoy a diet of farm grown silage and hay supplemented with a little barley or beat pulp in the winter. Edinvale do not use compound feeds or growth promoters.

Edinvale’s traditional beef is matured on the bone for a minimum of 21 days, producing a tender and well marbled meat.

Loch Gorm Lamb
Loch Gorm Lamb comes from traditionally reared livestock in the hills near Grantown. The lamb is tender and succulent, and is characterised by its full aromatic flavour.

Wester Ross Salmon

Wester Ross Smoked Salmon
Wester Ross salmon is smoked in a small traditional smoke house in Ullapool, dry-cured using sea-salt crystals before being vertically hung in a traditional brick kiln and smoked over oak shavings from whisky barrel staves. Each pack is hand sliced, preserving the fine flavour and texture.

Using the same care and attention, the maple cure hot-smoked salmon combines delicious flavours of oak smoke and maple syrup.

Based in Ardersier near Inverness, Connage Highland Dairy produces a range of award winning cheeses. Using organic whole milk from their own herd, Connage produces traditionally made soft and hard cheeses including Clave (brie-style), Crowdie, Dunlop, Smoked Dunlop, Cromal and Gouda.
